To Be Seen

To Be Seen is a dark contemporary YA that will appeal to readers who appreciated the authentic voices in Speak and Girl in Pieces, and the suspense of We Were Liars.

Just because no one knows your secrets doesn’t mean they can’t hurt you.

And no one knows more about secrets than seventeen-year-old Miranda Davies. On the first day of Miranda’s senior year, the whole high school is on edge with the news of the suicide of head cheerleader, Chloe Carter. Having started the day with a hangover and a fistfight, Miranda is already in trouble and at risk of losing the one thing she cares about. In order to keep her spot as first chair (violin) in orchestra, she vows to lay low for the rest of the year. However, that vow is put to the test when Chloe Carter’s ghost appears and pleads with Miranda to investigate the events leading up to her death.

As she sorts through the mysteries of Chloe’s life, Miranda is forced to relive a moment from her own past that left her with secrets and scars that she’s had to keep hidden. With the help of some unlikely friends, she learns to let go of the past in order to start writing her future.
